There is increased demand for housing in Rocky Mtn. House and area due to the influx of oil companies and the forestry industry looking to bring their workers in to take advantage of the areas’ wealth of supply.
Rocky sits in the midst of these oil fields (some are among the largest in North America); such as the Cardium Duvernay, Glauconite, Wilrich, Notikewin, West Central Ellerslie, Belly River and Viking with existing infrastructure in place. Forestry and Coal Mining are also a big draw to the area.
The area hotels and restaurants are filled to capacity with pumper trucks lining the highway on their way to the oilfields. Workers and their families from inside and outside of the province are coming here looking for a home. Most of the three bedroom homes that were on the market have sold and there is a waiting list for rental properties.
